Dr. Alice Hsu (Dr. "Sue"!) has been a life-long lover of animals and our environment. She majored in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology as an undergrad at Princeton University, with a concentration in Animal Behavior. She continued her animal studies in a dual degree program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also met her husband.

After graduating from Penn with a Ph.D. in Immunology as well her veterinary medical degree (VMD), she worked as an ER veterinarian for three years in an emergency and specialty referral center outside Philadelphia. Since the birth of their first child, Dr. Hsu has divided her time between motherhood, private practice (as a part-time and relief vet), and undergraduate teaching (Biology & Immunology).

Dr. Hsu is an active volunteer in the community, serving as Grants Committee Head for Wrightsville Beach Elementary School's PTA. She is always seeking innovative programs to benefit children, families, and our community. She is particularly passionate about building collaborations and networks designed to strengthen the bonds between society and our animal companions - for our mutual enrichment!

In her spare time, Dr. Hsu loves decompressing with family and spending time at the beach and on the water!
